At one point in time, John Wall was one of the NBA's most electrifying talents at the point guard position. Despite this, fans went into a frenzy after some comments about keeping his career alive.
Since heel and achilles injuries cost him almost two years of his career, Wall has struggled to find a home in the league. He played well for the Houston Rockets when he first returned in 2021, but they ended up shutting him down so they could play younger talents.
During a recent interview, John Wall talked about what's next for him. The former No. 1 pick said he remains focused on working his way back onto an NBA team.

Breaking down John Wall's NBA career
After playing one season in college at Kentucky, John Wall entered his name in the 2010 NBA Draft. He'd end up getting selected first overall by the Washington Wizards.
From the moment he stepped foot in the NBA, Wall showed the potential to be one of the game's top stars. As a rookie, he averaged 16.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 1.8 steals. Despite these impressive numbers, Wall finished second in Rookie of the Year voting to Blake Griffin.
During his tenure with the Wizards, John Wall continually improved into one of the league's top point guards. His best individual season came in 2017. At the age of 26, he averaged 23.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, 10.7 assists and 2.0 steals. These numbers landed him All-NBA third-team honors.
Things took a turn for Wall in 2019 when he suffered a season-ending injury. He would end up getting hurt again during his rehab, elongating the timeline of his return. This time was extremely tough for Wall, as he later opened up on his battles with depression.
Wall eventually took the court again in 2021 and averaged 20.6 points for the Houston Rockets. However, he'd only get the chance to play in 40 games before they sit him out for nearly two seasons.
In 2023, the LA Clippers decided to take a flier on the former All-Star. Wall would end up playing 34 games for them, averaging 11.4 points and 5.2 assists off the bench. The Clippers then decided to trade him to the Rockets, where he'd eventually be waived.
At this moment, John Wall's list of accolades consists of being a five-time All-Star, one-time All-NBA, one-time All-Defense and making an All-Rookie team.
