While players like DeMar DeRozan and Russell Westbrook threw their support behind Kendrick Lamar, Kevin Durant has continued to support Drake. When Lamar held a pop-up show in Los Angeles in June that was attended by LeBron James and other NBA stars like DeRozan and Westbrook, Durant was seen hanging out with Drake.
After facing backlash on social media for investing in a company that supplies drones to Israel and with Kendrick Lamar releasing a new album, Durant shared a Drake song on his Instagram story.
On Tuesday, Durant posted Drake's "30 for 30 Freestyle" on his Instagram story with no caption.

Once fans on X caught wind of the post, the NBA community was quick to weigh in. As some pointed out, the future Hall of Famer has been less active on social media than usual, and they seem to think it has to do with KD being called out for investing in a company supplying drones to Israel.
"Kd been hiding on Twitter since that Palestine stuff about him came out," one fan said.
"We’ve been waiting for KD to talk about those drones and he’s been dodging us," another fan said.
"Has kd posted about them drones yet," one fan said.
Others kept the jokes coming, with some calling Durant corny:
"oh so now easymoneygenocide got something to say??" one fan said.
"Kevin Durant top 5 corniest niggas of all time," another fan said.
Looking at Kevin Durant's controversial connection to company supplying drones to Israel
Earlier this month, Kevin Durant was called out by fans on social media when his investment in a California-based drone company named Skydio went viral. The post calling Durant out showed two screenshots, one from a 2023 article by Politico and one from a 2020 FanSided article.
The 2020 article from FanSided indicates that in 2020, Durant quote, "funded" the California-based drone startup company. The other screenshot, from a 2023 Politico article, says that Skydio has been supplying drones to the Israeli Defense Forces.
The post, seen above, was made on Nov. 20. Since then, Durant has only posted on X once, a sponsored video in partnership with FanDuel on Nov. 23.
In the replies, numerous fans referenced the report that a company Durant funded is directly tied to the IDF, however, Durant didn't respond. Since then, Durant, who frequently engages with fans online, hasn't posted or replied on X.
