Kendrick Perkins tweets to Elon Musk; dazed by his recent move on paid accounts

Twitter is a new world as Elon Musk has taken over the scene. The biggest change he's made thus far is allowing people to buy verified logos. Kendrick Perkins, an NBA analyst for ESPN, doesn't seem happy with that and took to Twitter to let Musk know.

"Hey @elonmusk man this used to be my sanctuary what the hell have you done?! I’m just saying…"

Fake Twitter accounts are becoming a major issue in the sports world. Due to people now being able to buy a verified checkmark for $8 per month, trolls are running at an all-time high. There is a disclaimer if someone was to click the checkmark, stating they have it because of Twitter blue.

There will probably even be fake Kendrick Perkins accounts soon. Yes, people are going that crazy where they're even making fake accounts of guys like Perkins, not just LeBron James.

However, it might not be enough or something that people know yet. There was even a fake trade request from LeBron James on Thursday, which went viral as the person was verified with the same Twitter name as James.

The fake LeBron account tweeted the following:

"I am officially requesting a trade. Thank you #LakersNation for all the support through the years. Onto big and better things. #ThekidfromAKRON #ImComingHome"

Fake Twitter accounts are now on the platform

Elon Musk says he has plans to figure out Twitter and make it a safe platform. This means that people that are creating the accounts and aren't saying they're a "parody account" will be suspended.

"Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying 'parody' will be permanently suspended," Musk wrote. "While Twitter previously issued warnings before suspensions, now that it is rolling out "widespread verification, there will be no warning."

There are reasons why Twitter needs to crack down. Musk believes he's ready to attempt the changes that need to be made in order for Twitter to be the best social media platform.

“We’re really going to agonize a lot about what is right, what should be done, and sometimes we’ll be wrong about that and take corrective action,” Musk said. “If we’re doing a good job, we’ll see user interest be high and advertiser growth be strong.”

As seen from the tweet by Kendrick Perkins, many media members and others, in general, are starting to become worried about what Twitter is doing. If Twitter allows people to continue buying verification logos, there's a good chance this could become a prevalent issue within the coming months.

People on Twitter are not going to realize that verified accounts have a different saying when clicking on their verified logo. Because of this, it could cause misrepresentations. Even with some of the sports things that have already been seen, things could get worse if people don't stop doing things like that and spreading fake news on the internet.

All it takes is for one person to have a viral tweet that many don't realize isn't true for something to become a major issue. It will be interesting to see how people react, but from the first few days on Twitter, it's not going as well as many hoped. Elon Musk is going to have a difficult task ,and guys like Kendrick Perkins might get the worst end of it as there will be many people impersonating him.
