Even at the age of 38, LA Lakers superstar LeBron James continues to dominate on the basketball court. Throughout his illustrious career, James has always looked to receive any motivation that could improve his game.

One of the top players to ever step foot on an NBA court, James has become a two-way superstar throughout his NBA career. LeBron has stacked up countless awards throughout his basketball journey. The list includes four NBA Finals MVPs, four NBA championships and six All-Defensive team nominations, to mention a few.

Appearing on The Draymond Green Show, former NBA veteran and current analyst Kenny Smith shared a story about an interaction with LeBron. Earlier in LeBron's career, LeBron asked Smith for advice about his game. Here's what Smith said to James:

"You're the greatest player in the world right now... and you still got holes in your game."

LA Lakers superstar LeBron James continues to defy the odds with his play at this stage of his career. He's currently averaging 29.9 points, 8.5 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game.

There's no denying that James can still be a dominant force on a nightly basis. Despite his pursuit of surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's NBA all-time scoring record, James will be focused on getting the Lakers back to the NBA playoffs.

It won't be easy for the Lakers as their struggle to get themselves above .500 in the standings continues. Heading into Saturday's game against the Boston Celtics, the Lakers find themselves with a 23-26 record on the year. Saturday's matchup against the Celtics will be the first of a daunting five-game road trip.

After the matchup against Boston, the Lakers will face the Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks. From there, the team will finish their road trip with games against the Indiana Pacers and New Orleans Pelicans.

James has lately been sensational for the Lakers. In his last eight games, LeBron is averaging 33.1 points, 9.6 rebounds and 8.1 assists per game while shooting 49.5% from the field.
