Kevin Durant shared a hilarious moment with a reporter after she got his box score wrong following the Brooklyn Nets' 116-109 win over the Indiana Pacers.

The Nets superstar reminded her of his points tally for the night after she got it wrong by two points.

"I thought I had 36," Durant said after the reporter asked him how he was able to get most of his 34 points at the rim.

Durant has been on a tear this season. Through seven games, the former MVP is averaging 32.6 points on 52.4% shooting. KD has been largely successful in scoring at the rim so far.

He hasn't gotten going from deep yet (32.4% for the season), which has seen him dig into his skills as a versatile scorer.

Kevin Durant's 36 points against the Indiana Pacers helped the Brooklyn Nets break their four-game losing streak. It was a close contest with only a three-point difference between the teams with 1:47 left on the game clock.

Durant came up clutch, assisting a field goal and making two free throws in the dying moments to seal the win for his team.

Kevin Durant climbs up to 19th on the NBA's all-time scoring list

Kevin Durant's 36-point effort against the Indiana Pacers saw him pass NBA legend Vince Carter on the all-time scoring list. Durant is now 19th with 25,754 career points.

Durant was 11 shy of Carter's record entering the game against the Pacers. He scored a pair of free throws late in the first quarter to pass the former Toronto Raptors star.

KD paid tribute to Carter after the game, saying:

"It means a lot. I love to score the ball. That's the name of the game.
"That's why we play basketball – to put points on the board, to shift the game, to be mentioned with the greats, to pass somebody I looked up to as a kid – my first NBA jersey was Vince Carter's when he was in Toronto. So that's a full-circle moment for me."

Durant will have the opportunity to pass up many legends and go up to 10th if he keeps up his scoring numbers and plays the entire regular season. He could surpass Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Tim Duncan, Oscar Robertson, Dominique Wilkins, Hakeem Olajuwon and Moses Malone, among others.

There's a good chance Kevin Durant could keep up with his scoring averages, but his availability remains questionable. Durant hasn't been able to prevent injuries over the last two seasons and will need to overcome that this year if the Nets are to mount a serious championship bid.
