The Brooklyn Nets have provided an update on Kevin Durant's injury after he exited against the Miami Heat on Sunday. Per ESPN's Adrain Wojnarowski, the former MVP has suffered an MCL sprain and will be re-evaluated in two weeks. He also reported that the team is optimistic that their star forward will not have to miss significant time.

Kevin Durant's injury occurred late in Brooklyn Nets' one-point win against Miami. While driving the lane, Jimmy Butler fell to the ground and onto Durant's leg. Before being forced to exit, KD had 17 points, five rebounds, and two assists.

Kevin Durant's charge of the Nets

If Durant's injury is bad, it will be a tough blow for the Brooklyn Nets. Over the past month, they have been one of the top teams in the NBA. The Nets are currently second in the Eastern Conference and have won 14 of their last 15 games.

Part of why Brooklyn has been so dominant is because of Durant's play. Before coming down with an injury, he was in the midst of an MVP-level season. In 39 games, he was posting averages of 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists.

With Durant out for at least the next two weeks, it will now be up to Kyrie Irving to lead the charge for the Brooklyn Nets.
