Kevin Durant shrugs off Anthony Edwards' trash talk: "You get hot, you make shots"

Near the end of the third quarter of Saturday's Game 1 playoff matchup between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Phoenix Suns, Anthony Edwards talked trash to Kevin Durant after hitting a three-point shot over him. Following the 120-95 loss, Durant didn't think too much of it, as he considered it a part of the sport and the competition involved.

He acknowledged that it was a tough shot from the Timberwolves star, who managed to find his rhythm early on in the game and has never let go of that momentum since then.

"Yeah, it's just basketball," Durant said, "not even playoffs, it's just hoop. You get hot, you make shots, you make tough shots, you're gonna feel excited about yourself.

"So it's on me to keep coming back and show him a tough look ... He got it going. He made some tough ones, just gotta live with it and be better nex game."

Edwards finished with 33 points (14-of-24 shooting, including 4-of-8 from 3-point range), nine rebounds, six assists and two steals.

During the game, Suns star Kevin Durant was no slouch either, as he scored 31 points (11-of-17 shooting, including 2-of-2 from 3-point range) and seven rebounds to lead all scorers on his team. However, it was not enough to get the advantage over the Minnesota Timberwolves' imposing defensive ability.

Be that as it may, the two-time NBA champion remains headstrong as he looks forward to bouncing back in Game 2.
