The Boston Celtics had an almost perfect run last season, led by Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. They went past every obstacle to become the 2024 NBA champions. However, despite keeping almost the same lineup, the defending champions could not recreate the same magic this year.
They made it only to the second round, where the New York Knicks eliminated them from the championship race. Now, it looks like the Celtics might be interested in breaking up their championship core to plan for the future.
On Wednesday, NBA Central shared insider Shams Charania's report on X that the Celtics are willing to listen to trade offers for Brown and Derrick White.

After coming across the post, the fan online flocked to the comments section to express their thoughts.
"Knicks ruined the Celtics 'dynasty,'" one fan commented.
"Trading Jaylen Brown would be so disrespectful," another fan commented.
"trading away your finals MVP a year after is mad work," another fan said.
While some fans stood up for Brown's place on the roster, others were open to seeing him go but were upset about White's availability on the market.
"Derrick White should be untouchable. I’d listen to offers for Jaylen," one fan said.
"i understand Jb but derrick white is too far," another fan said.
"Losing Derrick white will be the downfall of their team," another fan commented.
Jaylen Brown had a good run this season, averaging 22.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. He injured his right knee in March and, after Jayson Tatum suffered a torn Achilles in Game 4 of the second-round playoff series, Brown was unable to carry the team alone.
Celtics share major update on Jaylen Brown's knee injury
Jaylen Brown was a Celtics warrior during this season's playoffs as he decided to play through pain to help his team in their pursuit of a back-to-back title. However, after the Knicks eliminated them in the second round, it was revealed that the 2024 Finals MVP had a torn right meniscus and had to undergo surgery to fix it.
On Wednesday, Boston announced that Brown's right knee arthroscopic debridement procedure was a success, and he is expected to be back for next season's training camp without any limitations.
On the same day, the Celtics' Instagram handle made a celebratory post for Brown's successful procedure. They posted a picture of the star guard sitting on the hospital bed with retired boxer Willie Brown by his side.
