The LA Lakers are searching for a new staff member this offseason. After the team's first-round playoff exit against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the organization is looking to hire a new Head Strength and Conditioning coach.
According to ESPN's post on X (formerly Twitter), the Lakers posted a job listing at TeamWorkOnline. The team is offering $200,000 to $250,000 a year for the position. Part of the position's responsibility is to motivate the players.
This is in response to the conditioning concerns raised by head coach JJ Redick following their dismissal.

After the team lost against the Wolves, Redick addressed the media about where the Lakers can improve. One of the areas the rookie head coach said should be taken into consideration is the conditioning.
"We have a ways to go as a roster, and certainly there are individuals that were in phenomenal shape, there's certainly other ones that could've been in better shape. That's where my mind goes immediately," Redick said.
The former NBA player did not get into the specifics about which player should get into better shape. However, All-Star guard Luka Doncic has always been the subject of conditioning. The LA Lakers want to take advantage of Doncic's prime and put him in a program where he'll thrive with his conditioning.
The team has shown promise in its first postseason run with the Slovenian star. With that, the management wants to create a championship environment around the five-time All-Star.
Miami Heat legend suggests the LA Lakers star should move next to LeBron James
Amid the LA Lakers' search for a new conditioning coach, former Miami Heat forward Udonis Haslem proposed an idea for Doncic. According to Haslem, the best approach for the five-time All-NBA is to move next to LeBron James and learn from him.
The Heat legend talked about Doncic and the Lakers on ESPN's "Get Up" on Wednesday.
“LeBron James. You move next to him… I’mma make sure his house is somewhere near LeBron James’ house,” Haslem said (1:30). “You’re gonna be in his pocket. This is gonna become a lifestyle to you, Luka.”
James has been credited as one of the most hardworking players in the league. His longevity speaks for him, as he's still among the top players at 40.
