LeBron James and the LA Lakers aren't having the best 2024-25 NBA season, as they went from being a top-4 team in the Western Conference in the first couple of weeks of the season to ranking eighth in the standings with a 13-11 record. They had a difficult week at the start of December, even losing back-to-back games by large margins against the Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami Heat, respectively.

After the defeat against the Heat, Lakers legend James Worthy had something to say about the team's performance and how LeBron James should act after the recent bad results.

"They need to get on the bus tonight and get some White Castle burgers and drive to Atlanta. And they need to think about who they are, and what they need to do because what they're doing right now ain't even close to Laker basketball. Not even close," Worthy said on Tuesday.

Before that, Worthy joined Byron Scott's show "Fast Break" to discuss LeBron James' status among the greatest players ever. Worthy named a former teammate, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, as the NBA GOAT on Nov. 25.

"How you gonna say whose the greatest without seeing Kareem's full body of work? How you gonna say, 'It's Michael.' Because you were born in 1995? Or '80, still you haven't seen people's full bodywork. People who hadn't seen Kareem, they need to stay out of the question here unless you have seen all that," Worthy said.

"To me, Kareem (is the GOAT). Not too many people won three national championships in college and held the (scoring) record for 39 years without shooting a three. People say, 'He wasn't athletic. Blah Blah.' Kareem and Wilt (Chamberlain) were extremely athletic." (32:55 mark)

LA Lakers, LeBron James lost three games last week

The LA Lakers would lose another game to the Atlanta Hawks on Friday, Dec. 6 before returning to winning ways against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday, Dec. 8. They will return to action on Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves to try to create some momentum ahead of a crucial month in the season.

LeBron James has been linked with a trade away from Crypto.com Arena, with some saying he's heading to the Bay to join the Warriors in a potential blockbuster trade. The Lakers can still sort out this season and finish it in the best way. Otherwise, some changes could happen mid-season or in the offseason.
