Lakers vs Nuggets prediction and game preview ahead of Game 3

Lakers vs Nuggets predictions have continued to fly ahead of Game 3 tipping off on Saturday night. With that in mind, let's take a look at the recent matchups, as well as what fans can expect for Game 3.

So far this postseason, both the Denver Nuggets and the LA Lakers have remained undefeated at home. Most recently, the Nuggets jumped out to a two-game lead in the Western Conference finals, putting the Lakers in a tough spot heading into Game 3.

Although the team will have plenty of confidence with its hometown fans behind it at Crypto.com arena, the pressure will be on. In games 1 and 2, the Lakers found themselves in the driver's seat at various points. Despite that, they failed to capitalize and steal a game on the road.

Now, with the stakes at an all-time high, the team will need to produce a win if they want to stave off a nearly insurmountable 3-0 lead to the best team in the West.

Looking at how injuries could impact Lakers vs Nuggets predictions

As with many of the series this postseason, a Lakers vs Nuggets prediction could hinge on injuries. With that in mind let's look at the NBA's most recent injury report.

Per NBA.com's official injury report, which tracks hourly submissions from every team, the Lakers have one player out and two probable. Big man Mo Bamba, who has yet to play since the April 28 game against the Memphis Grizzlies, is listed as out with ankle soreness.

In addition, LeBron James is listed as probable with right foot soreness, which is something he has continued to deal with during the Lakers' postseason run. Last but certainly not least, Anthony Davis is also listed as probably due to a stress injury in his right foot, which he has also continued to battle through.

On the flip side, the Denver Nuggets don't have anyone on the injury report at the present time. Although Jamal Murray has continued to battle through a non-COVID-related illness, he has continued to be a driving force in the Nuggets' success.

Lakers vs Nuggets prediction heading into Game 3

Although the LA Lakers currently find themselves down 2-0 in the series, the team was on the cusp of stealing a win on the road. Given that, and the fact that the Lakers will have the support of their hometown fans, we're predicting that the team is able to win Game 3.

The Denver Nuggets have continued to look dominant throughout the postseason. However, playing on the road gives the Lakers a chance to keep their streak alive.
