LeBron James and Team USA returned to the court after dodging a major upset against South Sudan over the weekend. Despite being a -43.5 favorite, the Americans had to battle hard to eke out a 101-100 win.
James and company faced off against the FIBA World Cup champions, Germany, on Monday. James didn't have the most active start to the game, playing only five minutes in the first quarter. He did score four points, shooting 2-for-2 from the field. He added one assist to his account.
Just like LeBron, the rest of the starters played five minutes in the first quarter of the game. The Americans played well for most of the first half, but a rocky start to the second prompted James to take a more active approach. He was key behind the team's comeback win after USA trailed in the fourth quarter.

He led the team in scoring after hitting a few clutch shots in the later stages of the contest to hand the Americans a 92-88 win.

LeBron James received notable honor for the Olympics opening night
Once Team USA wraps up its preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, LeBron James will get ready for another challenge. The LA Lakers superstar will be the first male basketball player to carry the country's flag at the 2024 Paris Olympic opening ceremony.
After 20 years of playing in the NBA, winning four championships and two gold medals in the Olympics, James was selected by his fellow American athletes to have this honor.
“It’s an incredible honor to represent the United States on this global stage, especially in a moment that can bring the whole world together,” James said. “For a kid from Akron, this responsibility means everything to not only myself, but to my family, all the kids in my hometown, my teammates, fellow Olympians and so many people across the country with big aspirations. Sports have the power to bring us all together, and I’m proud to be a part of this important moment.”
LeBron James and company are ready to make a statement in the upcoming Olympic tournament. Following a terrible participation in the 2023 FIBA World Cup, the best players are ready to remind everybody who they are.
