LeBron James Stats Today: How did Team USA veteran fare against Puerto Rico?

LeBron James hit the court again in the third and final Group C game for Team USA in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The LA Lakers superstar is one of the leaders of the squad, not only for his experience but performances on the court. The King has been very active as both a playmaker and scorer for this team and had no plans to slow down against Puerto Rico.

Despite playing nearly seven minutes in the first quarter, LeBron James had a quiet start to the game, only scoring two points after making one of his three field goal attempts.

James woke up in the second quarter, adding six points to his account while being more active. His field goal percentage went up to 60% while he grabbed four rebounds and dished six assists. The forward made flashy plays, including a lob to Anthony Edwards, a putback off a Steph Curry miss and one big dunk in the final seconds of the second quarter.

LeBron James only scored two points for the remainder of the game after playing five minutes in the second half. The LA Lakers superstar finished with 10 points, six rebounds and eight rebounds. He also recorded one block to round up a terrific game.

Coach K praises LeBron James for carrying Team USA in the 2024 Paris Olympics

Legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski, who had the chance to coach LeBron James on Team USA earlier in his career, had some nice things to say about the four-time NBA champion. Talking on the Jim Rome show, Coach K praised LeBron for returning to represent Team USA.

"You are talking about one of the incredible athletes in any sport forever and LeBron James... it means so much to him," Coach K said.

He added that LeBron has played and managed himself as a gold medal already. "A great player can win by how that player looks and LeBron has shown the face of a gold medal winner the whole time so far," he said. Team USA won Group C of the Olympic basketball tournament and now they get ready for the knockout stages with James leading the way.
