LeBron James' son Bronny James had a rough G League debut for the South Bay Lakers. Expected to have better production with less competition, Bronny only scored six points on 2 of 9 shots, missing all four of his 3-point attempts. He added four assists, three rebounds, and two steals, but that came at the cost of five turnovers.

It was similar to the numbers he was tallying initially in the Summer League and in his garbage time minutes in the NBA. Bronny had a promising start after making his first pull-up jumper, which represented the South Bay Lakers' first points.

However, his production fizzled out as the matchup progressed. NBA fans mocked LeBron James' son for not producing the goods. One fan joked that he's only in the NBA because of his father's "ego."

Another said:

"Bronny out here filling the stat sheet like it’s a group project… did just enough to say he contributed. Hey, at least the 2/9 proves he’s got LeBron’s confidence!"

One fan said Bronny James should be demoted further and sent to the Chinese league.

"He must be sent to China next. Not even capable of hooping in the G League."

Another questioned if players moving back to Division 3 basketball was still possible after seeing Bronny struggle.

"He s*cks. Can you get dropped back to NCAA D3?"

One fan said Bronny James will only live off LeBron James' paychecks if his basketball journey doesn't pan well.

"He's just gonna be living off his pops dime for life. This ain't it"
"He's cooked," said another fan.

LeBron James, JJ Redick and more Lakers personnel in attendance for Bronny James' G League debut

Bronny James' G League debut game was sold out. The marquee matchup also saw many other Lakers personnel in attendance. LeBron James, coach JJ Redick, star big man Anthony Davis and point guard D'Angelo Russell watched the game from the sidelines.

Meanwhile, Bronny's mother, Savannah, sister Zhuri and grandmother, Gloria, were also in attendance. While Bronny had another game where he showed flashes of his potential, the bigger picture outcome was solid for the South Bay Lakers, who won 110-96 against the Salt Lake City Stars.

Lakers' two-way player Quincy Olivary was the star of the night. He scored 28 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished six assists and shot 7 of 15 from 3-point range. Lakers' sophomore Maxwell Lewis also had a breakout performance with 27 points, five rebounds, two steals and two blocks, shooting 10 of 18, including 5 of 8 from 3-point range.
