Luka Doncic is reportedly on the verge of signing a four-year, $229 million contract extension with the LA Lakers for the next four years. The blockbuster deal is expected to be finalized in early August, following Doncic’s ongoing Jordan Brand tour.
Amid speculations around this massive extension build, Doncic’s fiancée gave fans a glimpse into their luxurious lifestyle. In her Instagram story on Monday, Anamaria Goltes shared scenes from a relaxing superyacht cruise.

Luka and Anamaria first met at age 12 during a vacation in Croatia. They began dating in 2016 and got engaged after Doncic proposed on July 7, 2023, at Lake Bled in Slovenia.

Doncic’s new deal is expected to be the Lakers’ most significant transaction of the summer yet. Slovenia’s national team head coach confirmed that Doncic will return before August 4 to begin preparations for the 2025 EuroBasket campaign.
Luka Doncic shocks basketball world with physical transformation
Luka Doncic has often faced criticism over his fitness, with some reports even suggesting that the Dallas Mavericks traded him due to concerns about whether he would ever reach the physical shape expected of a franchise player. This offseason, however, Doncic appears to have silenced his detractors.
On July 28, Men’s Health Magazine featured him on its cover, leaving the sporting world stunned. The photos showed Doncic being in his best shape since entering the NBA, looking leaner and more defined than ever before.
“Obviously I’m very competitive,” Doncic said. “This summer was just a little different, you know. It kind of motivated me to be even better. …If I stop now, it was all for nothing.”
In the interview, Doncic revealed that his transformation came through intense dedication. He has been working out twice a day, fasting for 16 hours daily and following a strict gluten-free, low-sugar diet.
The Lakers have had an eventful offseason, re-signing key players such as Jaxson Hayes and Christian Koloko. General manager Rob Pelinka further strengthened the squad with the additions of Jake LaRavia, Deandre Ayton and Marcus Smart.
After re-signing Doncic, the Lakers will shift focus to their next major priority. They will be convincing LeBron James to commit to a new deal.
James opted into his $52.6 million player option earlier in the offseason, which many believed was a sign he intended to remain with the team. However, he has yet to officially re-sign, further giving rise to rumors that the 2025-2026 season could be his final campaign before retiring.
