The Milwaukee Bucks eked out a 106-103 win against the Miami Heat without Giannis Antetokounmpo. With the two-time MVP a late scratch, the Bucks leaned heavily on Damian Lillard who delivered 37 points, 12 assists, three rebounds, one steal and one block. Four other Bucks reached double-digit scoring to help Dame Time carry the offensive load.
Miami's defense showed up in the second half but could not pull off a come-from-behind win. After giving up 65 points to the Bucks in the first half, the Heat limited their visitors to 41 in the next two quarters. Jimmy Butler and Co. fell short when the Bucks made clutch baskets and defensive stops at crunch time.
Butler led Heat scorers with 23 points and added five assists and four rebounds. Terry Rozier, returning from injury, provided a big boost off the bench. He finished the game with 17 points, three rebounds and one block.

Milwaukee Bucks vs Miami Heat Game Summary
The Milwaukee Bucks traveled to South Beach for a matchup against the Miami Heat in a crucial Emirates NBA Cup showdown. A win by the Bucks pushes them to a 3-0 record, but a loss ties them with their hosts. Milwaukee hoped to survive the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was a surprising scratch.
Without the two-time MVP, Damian Lillard came out on fire to drag his team to a 31-20 lead after the first quarter. Miami kept in step despite Lillard’s fiery start behind a balanced attack led by Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, who combined for 13 points.
The Bucks got a big boost across the roster in the second quarter. Taurean Prince and Brook Lopez did their part in carrying the offense. Milwaukee's bench also stepped up to contribute 20 points. Lillard stayed hot and added eight points to help the visitors take a 65-51 halftime lead.
Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro combined for 30 points, four rebounds and six assists. Miami played better in the second quarter than in the opening period but had trouble stopping Milwaukee's 3-point onslaught. The 13-for-21 to 3-for-9 disparity from behind the arc was the biggest reason the Heat trailed.
Milwaukee's sizzling 3-point accuracy sputtered in the second half. After going 13-for-21 in the first half, they finished the game 7-for-21 from deep. Miami's defense clamped down but the Bucks held on for a 106-103 win.
