NBA All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton is questionable for the Indiana Pacers tonight against the San Antonio Spurs. He is dealing with a sore right calf, which he suffered two nights ago versus the Dallas Mavericks.

Haliburton, who celebrated his birthday that night with Mavs superstar Luka Doncic, played 35 minutes and finished with 32 points and six assists. He didn’t show any signs of the injury during the game but was not a full participant in Indiana’s last practice.

Tyrese Haliburton is averaging career-high numbers in points (20.1) and assists (10.1) per game. He is also shooting 48.2% from the field, including 39.8% from behind the arc.

The former Iowa State standout could miss his 13th game of the season if his right calf remains sore. Chris Duarte, veteran George Hill and T.J. McConnell could see extended minutes on the floor if Haliburton is out.

Meanwhile, Golden State Warriors shooting guard Jordan Poole is probable to play tonight versus the LA Clippers. “JP” has been playing through a left knee contusion over the last few games.

The defending NBA champs, however, are expecting him to suit up tonight as they try to defend their homecourt against the Clippers.

“Poole Party” has started every game in place of Steph Curry since the NBA’s all-time 3-point king was sidelined with a leg injury. Over his last 10 games, he has been averaging 20.8 points, 5.8 assists and 3.0 rebounds. Poole is hitting 40.9% of his field-goal attempts, including 35.7% from behind the arc.

Ty Jerome or Moses Moody could be inserted into Steve Kerr’s starting lineup if Poole is in street clothes tonight.

Steph Curry: Left leg/shin injury; Injured since: Feb. 4, 2023

Steph Curry is recovering from partial tears to his superior tibiofibular ligaments, interosseous membrane and bruising on his lower left leg. He hasn’t been on the court for the defending NBA champs since a 119-113 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Feb. 4.

The Golden State Warriors are hopeful that he will finally return at some point during their three-game road trip next week. Kerr’s team will take on the LA Lakers, OKC Thunder and Memphis Grizzlies during that stretch.

The two-time NBA MVP has reportedly progressed so well that the Warriors are quietly confident they will have their franchise player back.

Before said injury, Curry was putting on an MVP-level type campaign. He is averaging 29.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.0 steals in 38 games.

The Golden State Warriors hold a 32-30 record, good for fifth place in the tightly-contested Western Conference. However, they are also just 2.5 games away from 11th, which would drop them out of the playoff picture.

Every game is crucial for teams with playoff aspirations. For the Warriors to repeat as NBA champs, they need to secure a postseason berth first. Accomplishing that task will be easier when they have Steph Curry in the lineup.

Andrew Wiggins: Personal reasons

Andrew Wiggins is set to miss his sixth consecutive game due to personal reasons. He last played on Feb. 13 against the Washington Wizards.

The Warriors have not given a specific timetable for his return. Donte DiVincenzo, who has taken Wiggins’ place in the starting lineup, will likely keep his position until the former NBA All-Star is ready to play.
