NBA player Bryn Forbes arrested for assaulting ex-pornstar girlfriend Elsa Jean: All you need to know

Free agent NBA player Bryn Forbes has found himself in hot water after allegedly assaulting partner Elsa Jean, a former porn actress. Forbes, who was released by the Minnesota Timberwolves a few days ago, was arrested on Wednesday at his home in San Antonio.

The former San Antonio Spurs and Milwaukee Bucks shooting guard was locked up at the Bexar County Jail for supposedly causing injury to Jean. Reports indicate that Forbes hit his girlfriend multiple times after a heated argument.

Bail was set for $2,500, which Forbes should be able to meet fairly easily.

Bryn Forbes hasn’t had a good week as he became a trade deadline casualty for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was let go to accommodate former All-Star Mike Conley from the Utah Jazz following a three-team trade that also involved the LA Lakers.

The former Michigan State combo guard debuted in the NBA with the San Antonio Spurs as an undrafted rookie. He spent four seasons under legendary head coach Gregg Popovich before moving to Milwaukee to play with Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.

He was traded by the Bucks to the Spurs before he played for the Denver Nuggets and then signed with the Timberwolves in July. The acquisition of Mike Conley and Nickeil Alexander-Walker before the trade deadline sent Forbes packing.

He is currently without a team and will likely not have one after the arrest after causing bodily harm to Elsa Jean. After spending some time with Forbes, Jean has reportedly broken up with the free agent.

Bryn Forbes and Elsa Jean got to know each other via Forbes’ former teammate Karl-Anthony Towns and girlfriend Jordyn Woods. It didn’t take long for romance to blossom between the now estranged former lovers.

Will Bryn Forbes find himself in the NBA?

A prolonged investigation and resolution to his alleged assault on girlfriend Elsa Jean could cause Bryn Forbes to miss the remainder of the 2022-23 NBA season.

Bryn Forbes is a career 41.0% shooter from behind the arc. He was a specialist who helped the Spurs, Bucks, Nuggets and Timberwolves with his superb outside shooting.

Forbes, however, is a liability on the defensive end. He’s never going to be the quickest and most athletic guard in the NBA. When he struggles from deep, he is almost unplayable.

Some teams, particularly those who are desperate for floor spacers, may take a chance on him. However, he will be under investigation by the police after the incident with Elsa Jean.

Just how long the case will be resolved could determine Forbes’ return to the NBA. He may also not even get back to the best basketball league in the world after all is said and done.
