Naji Marshall will be entering his second season with the Dallas Mavericks. While he earns $27,000,000 through his current three-year deal with the team, he remains frustrated with one major issue in the city. In his X post last Tuesday, Oct. 7, Marshall expressed frustration with Dallas' drivers, calling them out for having the worst drivers he has ever seen."I love dallas w all my heart never seen worst drivers in my life," Marshall wrote. Marshall is currently with the Mavericks on their training camp ahead of the 2025-2026 NBA season. Last year, Marshall put up career-high numbers after averaging 13.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.0 steals per game. Marshall came to Dallas following four seasons of playing with the New Orleans Pelicans. The Mavericks faced numerous franchise-altering moves last season as they traded former cornerstone Luka Doncic to the LA Lakers for Anthony Davis. The team also saw numerous injuries, headlined by Kyrie Irving's torn ACL. The team finished as the 10th seed in the regular season with a 39-43 record. They defeated the Sacramento Kings in the first play-in game, before losing to the eighth-seed Memphis Grizzlies. Marshall is expected to be one of the Mavericks' role players this season as they build around Davis, and top rookie pick Cooper Flagg. Nnaji Marshall expresses pain after Dallas traded Luka Doncic in FebruaryLuka Doncic was shipped to the Lakers in February in the most shocking trade in NBA history. With the trade, his former teammate Nnaji Marshall expressed what he felt about the trade. According to Marshall, the trade hurt him as Doncic became a close friend of his last year. “I mean I understood business is business as far as NBA, but I was hurt man," Marshall said The Young Man and The Three podcast on May. "Luka’s my dawg for real. And I love AD, that’s my guy right there, like he’s been great with us."Marshall said their short time as teammates made him feel close to Doncic. "As far as just personally like I was just hurt to lose Luka, man. I mean, it was a great time spent with him the short time we did and I mean I was just hurt to see him go.”The Mavericks will be opening their season against the San Antonio Spurs on Oct. 22 in what will be their first opening night since the Doncic trade.
