New York Knicks vs Philadelphia 76ers Game Summary

It was a close contest early in the first quarter before the Knicks built a nine-point lead with less than two minutes remaining in the period. However, the Sixers went on a 10-3 run to end the quarter to trim New York's lead to just two points.

In the second quarter, it was another back-and-forth game until the Knicks started gaining momentum following an unsuccessful challenge by the Sixers. New York gained another nine-point advantage, but Philly was not going away quickly.

The Sixers had another run to end the period although Josh Hart hit a long 3-point shot at the buzzer to give the Knicks a 54-50 lead at the half.

The two teams traded buckets again to start the third quarter. The New York Knicks gained control midway through the period, building another nine-point advantage. But just like in the past two quarters, the Philadelphia 76ers made a run of their own to trim the lead to just three points heading into the final period.

In the fourth quarter, the Knicks went the same route again, but the lead reached 15 points. They never looked back as the Sixers were unable to put together another run to make things interesting. The Knicks were just making tough shots to earn their first game of the NBA Emirates Cup.

The New York Knicks improved to 5-5 for the season and 1-0 in the NBA Emirates Cup. The Philadelphia 76ers, on the other hand, dropped to 2-8, which is the second-worst record in the Eastern Conference.

The Sixers are in trouble early in the campaign following the prolonged absence of Joel Embiid. Paul George also missed five games with a knee injury, while Tyrese Maxey is dealing with a strained hamstring.
