OKC Thunder vs Indiana Pacers Game 4: Game recap

OKC adjusted its starting lineup in hopes of bouncing back from a disappointing Game 3 showing. The Thunder inserted Isaiah Hartenstein into the starting five in place of Cason Wallace to roll out a double-big frontcourt.

Indiana opened hot from beyond the arc, connecting on four of its first five 3-point attempts, with Myles Turner contributing six quick points within the first five minutes.

The Pacers shared the ball effectively, assisting on eight of their first nine field goals, hitting 9-of-12 overall to start.

But the Thunder responded with a 9-0 run to tie the game at 24, fueled by Jalen Williams, who earned six free throws in the period. OKC capitalized at the line, sinking all nine of their first-quarter free throw attempts.

A Kenrich Williams tip-in following a missed 3 by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander brought the Thunder within one at the end of the first quarter, with the Pacers holding a narrow 35-34 lead.

The second quarter saw the intensity ramp up, as both teams were hit with flagrant fouls.

By halftime, the Pacers held a narrow 60-57 lead. For Indiana, Pascal Siakam contributed 14 first-half points. The Pacers dished out 15 assists on 21 made shots but struggled with nine turnovers.

Jalen Williams paced OKC in the first half with 16 points, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Alex Caruso chipped in 12 and 11, respectively.

The Pacers withstood every Thunder surge in the third quarter and managed to take a seven-point lead into the final period.

But in the fourth, OKC’s offense surged behind Gilgeous-Alexander and Williams, while three missed free throws by Bennedict Mathurin helped seal the win.
