Franz Wagner and Jonathan Isaac's injuries have played a major part in the Orlando Magic's latest run and ahead of the team's clash against the formidable OKC Thunder unit on Saturday, the team will most likely be without the duo's services again.

The Magic are already dealing with injuries to some key players on their roster and with two missing pieces, their playoff campaign just got that much harder. With Kevon Harris and Jett Howard on G-League duties, the team lineup is already depleted of resources.

According to ESPN's updated injury report, both Wagner and Isaac will miss out on the clash against the Thunder. The report also listed Garry Harris and Wendell Carter Jr. on the list with calf and hamstring issues respectively.

What happened to Franz Wagner and Jonathan Isaac?

Franz Wagner suffered a right ankle sprain when the Magic played the Sacramento Kings on Jan. 3 losing in double OT. He has missed four games since and there is no timetable available for his return.

Isaac has been ruled out because of a right hamstring strain, and the Magic have listed him as a game-time decision. The veteran forward continues to deal with injuries again after facing multiple season-ending injury woes since 2020. He last played on Dec. 23 and has yet to suit up since.

When will Franz Wagner and Jonathan Isaac return?

At the time of writing, there is no timetable for both stars' return making things difficult for Orlando. The side will hope both players will ramp up conditioning and return to the team just before or right after the All-Star Games in Indiana.

In the meantime, they will have to figure out a way to fill in for both Wagner and Isaac with firepower to help them win games and stay in postseason contention.

Franz Wagner and Jonathan Isaac's stats vs OKC Thunder

In his three games against the Thunder, Franz Wagner has averaged 15.3 points, 4.7 assists and 3.7 rebounds. This season, he is propping up 20.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 3.9 assists. As for Isaac, the forward is averaging 12.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks in three games against Oklahoma. This season, he is dishing out 6.4 points and 4.1 rebounds.

The Magic have been one of the underdog stories this season, and the team has played some admirable basketball to get their season off to a strong start. They were placed second in the East at one point before injuries and a string of close losses derailed their solid run.

At 21-17 and placed eighth in the East, Orlando is yet to consolidate their position as a playoff contender and will hope to build on their impressive start.
