On Friday, Dallas Mavericks star Klay Thompson was seen at Arthur Ashe Stadium to watch the US Open men's singles semifinal between Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe. While enjoying the game, Thompson met New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu.
In a picture Thompson shared on Instagram, he was seen posing with Ionescu, her husband Hroniss Grasu and Carl Bergstrom, the performance trainer of Thompson's former teammate Steph Curry.
After spending over a decade with the Golden State Warriors, Thompson joined the Mavericks this offseason.

Jason Kidd says Kyrie Irving played a major role in recruiting Klay Thompson
Klay Thompson's signing with the Dallas Mavericks was one of the turning moments in recent NBA history. It was believed that despite his poor performances in the last few seasons, the Warriors were expected to offer a satisfactory deal to keep him.
However, after the initial deal the Warriors offered, the five-time All-Star reportedly felt "disrespected," and he eventually joined Dallas.
Last month, Mavericks coach Jason Kidd said Kyrie Irving played a crucial role in recruiting Thompson.
“When you talk about the recruitment, it was a lot of people that were involved in that. But one of the biggest players in that was Kai,” Kidd said on NBC Sports Bay Area's "Dubs Talk."
“Kai being able to, player to player, (detail) his experience of what Dallas has been like for him in two years and being able to tell Klay the honest truth of what he thinks can happen with Klay coming to Dallas.”
The Mavericks will only be the second team Klay Thompson will play for in his NBA career. He played with the Warriors for 13 seasons, won four championships and established himself among the greatest players in the team's history.
