It has been a long and laborious season for Luka Doncic.

The guard played 70 regular season games for the Dallas Mavericks and averaged an incredible 37.5 minutes per game. Only the Chicago Bulls' DeMar DeRozan averaged more minutes. Add to that the 22 playoff games that Doncic competed in, and it is understandable that the Slovenian is feeling fatigued.

After the NBA season, Doncic represented his country at the Olympic qualifiers. Following a 93-65 loss to a Giannis Antetokounmpo-led Greek side, he spoke about his desire to get some rest.

"A long and tiring season is behind me. I admit that I am very tired, and at the same time, I am aware that I could give more of myself in a different state. Now I have a well-deserved rest waiting for me."

Last season, Doncic brought his team to within three wins of a NBA championship. The talented star will now begin his preparation for another deep playoff push with the Mavericks next season.
