Alabama v Arkansas
Brandon Miller's attorney statement reveals key details of his case

Brandon Miller, one of the top prospects in this year's draft, finds himself in the middle of a shocking controversy. Miller's involvement in a January 15 shooting in the Strip area of Tuscaloosa, Alabama (that got his now-former teammate Darius Miles arrested) has been under the spotlight.

The preliminary hearing allegedly claimed that Miller provided Miles with a handgun. However, Miller's attorney released a statement titled:

"FACTS SURROUNDING BRANDON MILLER’S PRESENCE AT SCENE OF SHOOTING ON JANUARY 15th."

The release denies Miller's involvement in the murders of the victims. Here's what the statement said:

"On January 14th, Brandon played in a basketball game in the afternoon and later was asked by Darius Miles for a ride to the Strip area to go to a nightclub. Mr. Miles brought his legal handgun and left it in the back seat of Brandon's vehicle. Brandon never saw the handgun nor handled it."

According to the statement, Brandon Miller never entered the nightclub. He went to another restaurant to eat while Darius Miles was at the party. Miller returned to pick up Miles after midnight. Once Miller reached the scene, Miles exchanged words with the individual who was with the victim. The former didn't interact with anyone at the party at any point.

Miles asked Miller to bring his firearm while the latter was on his way to the scene but didn't have context behind the former asking for the gun. The statement claims Brandon never touched the gun and wasn't aware of any illegal activity that would take place with the firearm at his disposal.

Miller's lawyer stated that all the events mentioned in his statement are captured on video, leaving no room to dispute his client's lack of involvement in the shooting. Miller has also cooperated by providing information in full to law authorities as a witness.
