LeBron James' son Bronny had to quickly get out of a basketball game in Washington, D.C. due to a gun scare. Bronny and Sierra Canyon played against DeMatha Catholic in a high-profile exhibition game on Saturday.

According to multiple reports, the game was halted toward the end as several fans got into an altercation. Panic ensued when someone allegedly pulled a gun that caused everyone to get out of the Wise High gym.

Police reportedly did not find any kind of weapon after a thorough search. Videos of people trying to get out of the gym were uploaded online. While Bronny was not visible in any of the videos, the commotion appeared to be a scary situation.

Ethan Thomas of BasketballNews described the game as having an atmosphere similar to the NBA playoffs. The game was organized by Paragon Marketing Group, a company close to LeBron James. The LA Lakers superstar was not present at the game.

"Given the incident in the stands tonight during the CBC vs. Stags game at Wise High School, we have canceled Sunday's event," Rashid Ghazi of Paragon Marketing Group said. "We are making the decision out of the utmost of caution to ensure player and fan safety. Refunds will be available via Go Fan."

A teenage girl present in the game put the blame on Sierra Canyon High School. She told Thomas that people were trying to protect Bronny during the incident, but downplayed the severity of the issue. Luckily, no injuries were reported by the police.

"This was all Sierra Canyon's fault," the teenage girl said. "They were so busy trying to protect Bronny, they caused all of this themselves. Nothing even happened. There was no fight, not even any punches were thrown. It was some young boys running off at the mouth at each other."

Will Bronny play with LeBron James in the NBA?

Bronny James is in his senior year at Sierra Canyon High School. LeBron James' son has a lot of options after his graduation. Dana O'Neil of The Athletic pointed out that Bronny is a Top-100 recruit and will have plenty of options moving forward before the 2024 NBA draft.

O'Neil noted that the 18-year-old guard will most likely play one year of college basketball. However, he could play in the NBA G League for the Ignite Team or showcase his skills in Overtime Elite. He can also try his hand at professional basketball overseas.

Several scouts and college coaches told O'Neil that Bronny might need two to three years before he becomes NBA-ready. They pointed to players such as Jalen Brunson, Malcolm Brogdon and Corey Kispert as prime examples. The only problem is that the James family might not like the timeline.

LeBron has a player option for the 2024-25 NBA season. His contract with the LA Lakers is perfectly synced with Bronny's expected arrival in the league. "The King" wants to play with his son regardless of which team drafts him.
