The New York Knicks are looking to take a step forward with their roster. That could mean some changes are on the horizon for the franchise.

Heading into Wednesday night's game, the Knicks find themselves at 11-13 on the season. The team has shown some flashes throughout the 2022-23 season. At the same time, New York finds itself ninth in the Eastern Conference standings.

Normally when a team finds itself in a similar position, they have decisions to make ahead of the NBA's trade deadline. The Knicks could either look to package players to upgrade their roster. At the same time, New York could look to move some of its larger contracts.

One of those players that could be on the move is veteran wing Evan Fournier. The 30-year-old guard has two years remaining on his contract, including a team option in 2024-25. Fournier is set to make $18 million this season, meaning he will be a sizeable cap hit for an opposing team.

The Knicks might have to sweeten the pot to entice teams to take on Fournier's contract. That's just what the team has communicated to opposing franchises. According to NBA Insider Fred Katz, the Knicks have communicated that they are willing to attach Immanuel Quickley and Cam Reddish to a potential trade.

"They also have communicated that they are willing to attach Quickley or Reddish to Fournier to make a trade work, league sources said."

The New York Knicks signed Evan Fournier to a four-year, $73 million deal as a free agent before the 2021-22 season. The hope was that Fournier would provide the team with the needed outside shooting moving forward.

Fournier showed some promise last year with the Knicks. During the 2021-22 season, he averaged 14.1 points while shooting 38.9% from three-point range. This year, Fournier has seen a decline in minutes. He's playing just 20.0 minutes per game and averaging 6.9 points per game.

New York has found itself in a tough spot. While the roster has some interesting pieces, the Knicks must be aggressive to upgrade their talent. The Knicks must intrigue teams if they want to unload Fournier's contract. That could mean parting with either Immanuel Quickley or Cam Reddish.
