Scoot Henderson has his eyes set on the 2023 NBA draft. The talented guard has been sensational for the G League Ignite.

Henderson is expected to be a top two selection in the upcoming draft class. He's an electric playmaking point guard who has the talent to transform an NBA franchise. With a rare combination of speed, athleticism and poise, Henderson has the tools to be a superstar at the next level.

His game has drawn plenty of comparisons to NBA stars. Listed at 6-foot-3, Henderson is a highlight machine who can go coast to coast for emphatic slam dunks. One player whom Scoot has often been compared to is LA Lakers star Russell Westbrook.

In a recent interview with Michael Scotto of Hoopshype, Henderson said he admires Westbrook's mentality.

“I used to watch Russell Westbrook highlights before games," Henderson said. "His aggressiveness is like that dog in you that you’ve got to have. I try to not mimic it, but see how I can bring that out of myself.”

The 2023 NBA draft is expected to feature two names at the top of the class. It would seem as if massive surprise if international big man Victor Wembanyama isn't the first overall selection. The other expectation is that Scoot Henderson will be the next name off the board.

Henderson spent the 2021-22 season with the G League Ignite to develop his game for the next level. Despite playing last year at the age of 17, Henderson was one of the most impressive players in the G League.

This season, Scoot has looked to be taking steps forward in his development. After struggling with his outside shot last season, Henderson has become a balanced all-around scorer. There's a lot of tools in his arsenal that could make Henderson a lethal floor general at the next level. That's just what NBA scouts and personnel believe as well.

Scoot Henderson dealt with a nose fracture earlier this season and was put into concussion protocol. After missing an extended amount of time, NBA personnel debated whether or not Henderson would even return for the rest of the season. This was mainly due to the fact that Scoot had shown everything required to cement himself as a potential top two pick.

That idea was quickly shut down by team officials, and Henderson has since returned to action. In his last outing on Sunday, Scoot finished with 20 points, three rebounds and seven assists, while shooting 9-for-16.
