LeBron James had a rough night on Monday in the LA Lakers' 109-105 loss to the Phoenix Suns. LA gave up an early 18-point lead to allow Phoenix to even the season series at one game apiece. The Lakers won 123-116 on Friday in the first head-to-head matchup between the two teams at Crypto.Com Arena.

Skip Bayless reacted to James' performance and LA's loss:

“Oh, well, the Lakers will not go undefeated. But at least LeBron (3-14) kept his double-digit scoring streak alive with 11 points.”

LeBron James had seven points entering the fourth quarter. He didn’t score until the final 1:58 when he drained a 24-footer to cut the Suns’ lead to 105-104.

The 3-pointer gave him 10 points, keeping his streak of double-digit scoring games alive. The last time “King James” had less than 10 points in the regular season was on January 5, 2007, when he had nine against the Milwaukee Bucks.

James finished with 11 points on 3-for-14 shooting, including 2-for-5 from deep. He had eight assists and five rebounds but earned a plus/minus rating of -17, the worst among the starters.

Skip Bayless’ reaction after an LA Lakers game has become a staple on social media. Most of the time, his comments are directed at LeBron James. The "Undisputed" host did not disappoint on Monday after the Lakers-Suns game.

@sjp_v added:

“THAT STREAK WAS SO CLOSE TO BEING OVER.”

One fan commented:

“You're just jealous he's still on TV! (Throw back to skip claiming Shannon was jealous of Brady).”

Another fan said:

“[James] was getting carried the whole game.”

@thedefender2022 stayed in the same vein

“I'M NOT SURPRISED! STEROID NOT GOOD FOR EVERY GAME!!”

LA’s 3-1 start is tied for the best in the LeBron James era. The last time they had such an opening was during the 2019-20 season when they won the championship. A strong start doesn’t guarantee anything but the Lakers seem revitalized under JJ Redick. They nearly pulled off a road win despite James having an off night.

The season has a long way to go, though. Regardless of what happens to the purple and gold, fans expect Skip Bayless to be ready with his pointed comments.
