These teams are very familiar with one another, as they faced off during the pre-Olympic showcase games. In fact, South Sudan came very close to picking up a win over Team USA.

Despite entering the game as massive underdogs, South Sudan did not back down to the gold medal favorites. In the game's final minutes, the team found itself with an opportunity to possibly win the game.

In the end, South Sudan ended up falling just short. Thanks to a strong late-game performance from LeBron James, the U.S. was able to secure a 101-100 victory.
