Anthony Edwards' alleged NSFW trash talk to Kevin Durant leaked

Anthony Edwards and Kevin Durant went back and forth during Saturday's 2024 NBA Playoffs first-round series between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Phoenix Suns. The Timberwolves won 120-95 as Edwards canceled Durant's 31-point effort with a 33-point night. The duo went at it in an exciting third-quarter battle where Durant had 10 points while Edwards outplayed him with 18.

After the latter put the finishing touches in that dominated back and forth with a 3-pointer over Durant, the 2020 No. 1 pick let the Suns' All-Star hear it, allegedly telling him he can't guard him. An "X" user named "@Legendz_NBA" released a leaked audio, which suggests Edwards had an NSFW message for Durant.

"You can't guard me, what the f**k did I tell you, old a** n**ga?" Edwards said, claims the "X" user.

Durant smiled at Edwards after that exchange, seemingly unrattled by what he had to say. The two continue to respect each other's game tremendously, so the trash talk was well within the boundaries of their perspectives.

Anthony Edwards calls Kevin Durant the greatest after epic Game 1 battle

Anthony Edwards was in awe of Kevin Durant amid their Game 1 matchup. After coming out on top, Edwards paid his respect to KD, who fought a lone war for the Suns, with 31 points and seven rebounds on 64.7% shooting.

"I became a fan at one point like I was out there it's like, there's nothing we can do ... KAT was playing great defense Rudy [Gobert] was playing great defense and it's just like he [Durant] don't see you ... He's the greatest ever to do it, man."

Edwards then shared that his duel with Durant in the third quarter was one of the "best feelings ever" in his career. The former Georgia prospect grew up idolizing Durant when he was still growing into his young basketball career.

Anthony Edwards has the chance to cause an upset against his favorite player in the first round now, with a 1-0 lead and homecourt advantage. The Timberwolves weren't favored entering this series as they are young and coming off two first-round losses.

However, Saturday's Game 1 performance could swing the narrative in the Timberwolves' favor. They were the more physical team on both ends, who had the response to the Suns' offense outside of Durant.

Edwards' 33-point night gives the Timberwolves a much-needed shot in the arm, especially in offense, where majority of their struggles have come.
