Misery continued for the Los Angeles Lakers as they registered their fourth straight loss to start the season on Wednesday night. On ESPN's "NBA Today," Kendrick Perkins gave a compelling description of the team.
As one of the world's most famous sports franchises, Los Angeles (0-4) has been nothing but a disappointment. On Wednesday night, they suffered a 110-99 loss to the Denver Nuggets. This is the worst start for LeBron James since his rookie year. Perkins, his former teammate described the famous franchise in an interesting way.
"I don't care what Pat Bev (Beverley) is talking about. Hell, I didn't even think about and don't care what LeBron was talking about after that game. Here's the point right here, OK? The Lakers are just trash at the moment!" Perkins said when asked if the Lakers' season can be salvaged.
"It's almost like you at breakfast time and you're going to pull you some cereal, right? And you're thinking that it's Lucky Charms, and you find out it's Kibbles and Bits, and it's straight dog food. It's disgusting. This is what the Lakers are at the moment."

Perkins' description may be a bit too much, but it's not far off. The front office still hasn't done anything major to address the roster issues. The team is in desperate need of a consistent shooter who could elevate their game offensively. Rob Pelinka, the general manager, has to make some moves for the Lakers to compete.

Shooters are important in the NBA right now. To succeed in today's league, teams should acquire knockdown threats who could contribute heavily on the perimeter. Around the league, the Lakers have a ton of options.
Jordan Clarkson
Jordan Clarkson is having a career season. Through five games, he's been knocking down 42.9% of his shots from deep. Although his percentage could go down as the season progresses, acquiring him woud still be huge for Los Angeles. Additionally, he can create his own shots, and the team needs a player like him.
Eric Gordon
The veteran guard, Eric Gordon, could offer a ton for Los Angeles. But in order to acquire him, the organization should also be willing to give up important pieces. Throughout his career, Gordon has shot 37.0% from long distance and has made a living by knocking down 3-pointers. Trading for him could boost the Lakers' 3-point percentage.
Josh Richardson
Out of all the choices on this list, Josh Richardson has the highest 3-point percentage. This season, Richardson has made 48.0% of his shots from the perimeter. In addition to his shooting skills, he can dish out assists in certain situations. He's also been rumored to be a trade target for Los Angeles this season.
