Fans were entertained after seeing a video of a DJ at the Lakers practice facility, with many netizens sharing candid reactions. Several fans took a sly dig at the Lakers hiring a DJ before making any roster improvements.
"They hired a DJ before a Center," a fan wrote.
"All of that to not even make it to the playoffs is crazy!" commented another X user.
"Improve the roster ❌❌❌❌. Hire a DJ for practices ✅✅✅✅," said a fan.
"money for a DJ but no money to improve the squad," said another.
One of the fans slammed the Lakers, calling the franchise "unserious."
"@lakers are an unserious sports franchise now. Look no further than how Vando appeared yesterday - disinterested, zero excitement and the drive media day was so disappointing."
Another fan humorously suggested a song for the DJ, referencing a memorable on-court moment between LeBron James and his son Bronny James.
"Next time tell them to play stuntin like my daddy when Bronny pins Lebrons layup to the backboard."
Lakers hold first day of practice ahead of new season
The Los Angeles Lakers held their first full practice session under new head coach JJ Redick on Tuesday. Redick was hired in the offseason after the franchise parted ways with Darvin Ham. Lakers superstar LeBron James reflected on how the inaugural practice under Redick unfolded.
"We did a little bit of everything, just getting our system put in and going on to implement it," James said.
"Very detailed oriented, it's gotta be every single day in order for us to get better," he added.
