Regardless of what most people say, Vassell is a proven talent who's a cornerstone of the franchise. He may not be an All-Star yet, but he's their second-best player and has earned the hearts of Spurs fans.
Last season, he only played for 38 games and averaged 18.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.6 assists. Although most fans would point out that his stats aren't impressive, his play on the court says otherwise.

Devin Vassell talked about his summer workouts with Kevin Durant
Devin Vassell has been incredibly helpful for the Spurs over the past three seasons. Since getting drafted, he's slowly becoming one of the most recognizable players in the league and he's looking forward to making an impact in the coming seasons.
One of the ways he's helped reach that goal is by working out with some of the best players in the league. Over the summer, he worked out with Kevin Durant, where Vassell learned a lot of things. During the Spurs' media day, he talked about what he learned from the two-time Finals MVP.
"First off, that was kinda surreal to me," Vassell said. "KD's probably one of my favorite players when I was growing up, it's huge. He told me a bunch of stuff, he gave me some advice and at the end of the day, he was just telling me to be me. Don't let anybody change the way I play. Just play with pace and be confident and be a great teamamte."
The former 11th pick is expected to have another great year after being sidelined for a huge chunk of games last season after suffering a knee injury. Now that Devin Vassell is back and healthy, most fans are excited to see him play alongside the young talents of Victor Wembanyama, Jeremy Sochan, and Keldon Johnson.
