It's been over one-and-a-half months since the Los Angeles Lakers fired coach Darvin Ham after the franchise's first-round exit in the NBA playoffs. The Lakers have interviewed several candidates for the head coach role since firing Ham but the franchise has yet to finalize a name.
As the Lakers' search for a new coach goes on, there is a palpable amount of frustration among the Purple and Gold faithful.
The Lakers front office interviewed former NBA player JJ Redick for the head coach position last week. Redick is believed to be the front-runner for the job. Having said that, four days have passed since the Lakers' formal interview with Redick and no significant developments have occurred.
Senior NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski on Wednesday revealed that the Lakers haven't yet offered the job to the former player gunning to become a first-time NBA head coach.

After Woj broke the news on SportsCenter, fans voiced their frustration on social media and opined on how the Lakers have handled their ongoing search for a head coach.
Multiple fans shed light on how clueless the Lakers have been in their hunt to find Darvin Ham's replacement.
"This Front Office and ownership not knowing what to do? I'm shocked."
"These dudes don’t know who they want to hire," said another fan.
"What tf are we doing, need to hire a coach ASAP," wrote another frustrated fan.
"Welp Lakers don’t know what they are doing," echoed another fan.
One of the X users urged the Lakers to hire JJ Redick and make the decision quickly.
"Could it be they are still negotiating and working out a deal? I really hope they hire JJ, and hire him asap."
One of the fans pointed at the lack of communication from the Lakers front office amidst the ongoing head coach search.
"This is getting weird and the lack of communication from the team wild."
Adrian Wojnarowski's latest update on Lakers' head coach search
Contrary to some reports claiming that JJ Redick is confirmed to be the Lakers' next head coach, Adrian Wojnarowski has quashed all such rumors. The senior NBA insider affirmed that the Lakers front office hasn't offered the job to Redick yet.
"They've only offered the job to Dan Hurley (till date)," Woj told Scott Van Pelt.
"The Lakers then pivoted back to JJ Redick. Initially, Rob Pelinka had a brief 90-minute introductory meeting with Redick at the Combine, which was more of a casual get-to-know-you session rather than an in-depth interview. They then brought him to LA last weekend for a more formal interview process. Redick has since spoken with Rob Pelinka.
"The Lakers have also interviewed another candidate or two since Redick's interview this week. What's really left for the Lakers and JJ Redick at this point is for the Lakers to make an offer, which they haven't done yet," he added.
Until now, the Lakers have interviewed six candidates for the head coach position, with Dan Hurley being the only one to reject the offer. JJ Redick, Dan Hurley, James Borrego, Sam Cassell, David Adelman and Micah Nori have been interviewed by the Lakers so far.
