LeBron James had a season-high 39 points on Wednesday night for the LA Lakers. However, the Memphis Grizzlies were too much for them, as the Lakers lost their fourth game of the season 131-114. Lakers fans were not happy with the role players not showing up when they needed them the most.
Anthony Davis missed the game with a right heel contusion, so coach JJ Redick had to rely on James as the first option on offense. He finished with 39 points, seven rebounds and six assists, but it wasn't enough. James needed help from his role players, with Austin Reaves contributing 19 points, three rebounds and five assists.
The rest of the team, though, barely showed up. D'Angelo Russell had 12 points on 12 shots, while Jaxon Hayes only put up eight points, coming in for Davis. Dalton Knecht got the nod, with Rui Hachimura dealing with an illness but only scored three points on 1-for-7 shooting.

LA Lakers fans weren't happy with the team's performance outside of LeBron James, Austin Reaves and possibly Cam Reddish, who scored 15 points off the bench. Some are calling for the front office to make changes eight games into the campaign.
"I DON'T GIVE A SH*T. THE REST OF THE TEAM IS GARBAGE. TRADE EVERYONE," one tweeted.
"They have to make a trade like now," one fan claimed.
"They put the best bench player in the starting line up. And the Memphis bench was better. And as was out," another commented.
The LA Lakers didn't make a lot of changes to their roster from last season but replaced Darvin Ham with JJ Redick. It's just the third week of the campaign, but many are frustrated after a 3-0 start has turned into a 4-4 one.
"Take me back to the first week of the NBA," a fan wrote.
"LeBron's carrying the load with 39, but where's the support," one fan asked.
"Other than AD and Bron, the Lakers are garbage," another fan remarked.
Anthony Davis has been the team's MVP this season, averaging 32.6 points per game. He will have to recover fast if the Lakers want to remain competitive in a deep Western Conference.
JJ Redick praises LeBron James after the game

At the age of 39, LeBron James can still do it all, but the rest of the team needs to contribute more. Coach JJ Redick had nothing but praise for the four-time NBA champion for his performance against the Memphis Grizzlies.
"He's almost 40 years old, and he played the hardest on our team," Redick said.
After five straight games on the road, the LA Lakers are back at home for their next three contests. The Lakers welcome the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night before the Toronto Raptors arrive in Hollywood on Nov. 10. They end their three-game homestand against the Memphis Grizzlies two days later.
