Victor Wembanyama has become the talk of the basketball world. The international phenom is a favorite to be the first pick in the 2023 NBA draft.

Wembanyama came into the 2022-23 season as a name that was buzzing in NBA circles. At 7'4", with a reported 8'0" wingspan, Wembanyama has the length and size to overpower opponents. But that isn't just what makes him a special prospect.

The French-born big man might look like a center, but he can do damage from the perimeter as well. He's a dominant three-point scorer who showcases potential as a defensive anchor.

But his ability on the court isn't the only thing impressing his teammates.

Playing for the Metropolitans 92's this season, Wembanyama has been paired with some notable players. One of them is former Celtics point guard Tremont Waters. Speaking with Eurohoops, Waters talked about how Wembanyama is a sponge when it comes to studying the game.

"To be able to see how he reads the game while teaching him a few things as well it’s been fun. He’s a sponge as well, he’s willing to ask me questions. To be able to play with someone who’s such a great guy is a blessing."

One of the hottest NBA prospects in recent memory, Wembanyama has become a spectacle to watch.

Players of Victor's size and fluidity don't come around often. That's exactly what NBA teams realize as well. As long as Wembanyama stays healthy, he's going to be a landslide favorite to be the top selection in 2023.

Wembanyama has delivered on the hype as a potential generational talent. Heading into Friday, Wembanyama was averaging 26.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks per game. He was also shooting 51.2% from the field and 39.3% from three-point range.

Wembanyama continued his impressive stretch of performances today. He finished his most recent game with 32 points, 10 rebounds, four blocks, and three assists.

Time will tell who will be the lucky team in the NBA draft to be able to add Victor Wembanyama to their roster.
