Few players draw more offseason attention than LA Lakers star Luka Doncic, especially with fans closely monitoring his body transformation following his trade from the Dallas Mavericks, reportedly fueled in part by concerns about his conditioning.

This summer, Doncic appears to be delivering results. He’s been spotted looking noticeably leaner, and most recently, he was seen in his hometown of Ljubljana, Slovenia, not playing basketball, but padel.

The fan account @DoncicNo1 on X shared a clip early Wednesday ET showing Doncic on a padel court, the racket sport typically played in doubles on an enclosed surface slightly smaller than a traditional tennis court.

Earlier in the week, Doncic also posted a gym video to his Instagram, showcasing an intense leg press session with a heavy weight load.

Health and conditioning became a central narrative after Doncic’s move from Dallas to LA.

The 26-year-old still put up strong numbers — averaging 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 7.5 assists in 28 regular-season games — but the Lakers were eliminated in the first round by the Minnesota Timberwolves, who targeted Doncic defensively and capitalized on LA's lack of interior depth.

What this offseason means for Luka Doncic and the Lakers

This marks Luka Doncic’s first full offseason as a Laker, making his progress a key focus as the franchise eyes a roster overhaul. He’s also eligible for a contract extension, adding weight to his summer regimen.

Doncic’s commitment hasn’t gone unnoticed. Many have praised his offseason efforts, especially after he joined the Lakers in February coming off a left calf strain that had sidelined him for two months.

Jason Gallagher, producer of the “Mind the Game” podcast hosted by LeBron James and Steve Nash, recently joined “The Dumb Zone” and said he’s hearing promising things about Luka Doncic's mindset:

“I have heard from folks that are pretty honest about the conditioning stuff or whatever, that Luka has already begun to clean slate, starting anew. He is already in this mindset of changing a lot about himself. Now, I’ve heard it before. But not from specific people that have been critical of him.”

The Lakers are reportedly planning an aggressive offseason, targeting both trade and free agency opportunities, especially a big man to reinforce the frontcourt. Their assets include a first-round pick and expiring deals from Rui Hachimura, Gabe Vincent and Maxi Kleber.
