"White Iverson" was the lead single from Post Malone's debut album "Stoney" in 2015. He wrote the song for two days after getting his hair braided and thought that he looked like a "White Iverson."

It was a reference to NBA legend Allen Iverson, who was famous for his braids during his playing career. "White Iverson" was a success for Post, as it made him a household name. Iverson even praised him for his hit song that peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.

In an interview with Billboard back in 2017, Post was ecstatic to reveal that he was finally with "The Answer."

"I met the legend last night, and there'd be no 'White Iverson' without him," Post said. "I'm still tripping at how sick it was, and as A.I. says, 'The culture has no boundaries.'"

Post Malone then proceeded to share a picture of himself with Iverson. He even told Nardwuar that "White Iverson" is his only good song.

"I used to get a lot of shit for it," Post said. "You gotta understand I had like three songs out. I only had one good song. I still only have one good song, but I had to do it first, and I had to do it last 'cause no one knew who the hell I was."

Post Malone was born in Syracuse, New York, and moved to Grapevine, Texas, when he was nine. Post later moved to Los Angeles and tried his luck to become a rapper. He first gained mainstream popularity after the success of his song "White Iverson" in 2015.

After years of living in Beverley Hills, California, Post bought a mansion in Utah and currently resides in Cottonwood Heights. Besides seclusion and peace, another reason for moving to Utah was the state's relaxed gun laws.

"It's free country out there," Post told Rolling Stone. "Like, you can buy suppressors in Utah. You can do open-carry. Walk into the grocery store with a handgun on your hip. Cowboy sh*t."
