What are DJ Augustin's contract details with Houston Rockets? Salary, duration, and more

Los Angeles Lakers v Utah Jazz
D.J. Augustin is getting another call to the NBA.

The Houston Rockets have signed veteran D.J. Augustin for the remainder of the season, according to ESPN reporter Adrian Wojnarowski on Wednesday.

Augustin will make $333,333 for his time with the Rockets this season, with 10 games remaining. The contract will expire at the end of the season on April 9.

The move was made for Houston to comply with NBA roster rules. The Rockets were below the required 14 roster members after the buyout market and trades. This rule does not include two-way players.

Houston needed to sign a player after not keeping Willie Cauley-Stein after his 10-day contract expired.

The 35-year-old will add a veteran presence to one of the youngest rosters in the league.

Augustin previously played for the Rockets in 2020-21 and 2021-22, although not for the entire season. He averaged 7.3 points and 2.8 assists during both his previous stint with the Rockets.

Augustin has not played in the NBA this season. However, he played for the Rockets and then the Lakers in March of last season. Augustin is yet to play overseas and has been waiting for another NBA call.

The veteran is a career 9.5 ppg scorer. He has averaged 3.9 apg and shot 38.1% from 3-point range in his career.

The guard has been in the league since 2008. He has played for 11 NBA teams, including the Orlando Magic, Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Bulls.

He was drafted ninth overall by Charlotte Bobcats (now known as the Hornets) in 2008.
