JaMychal Green is a ten-year NBA veteran currently signed with the Golden State Warriors. After his two-year stint with the Denver Nuggets, Green signed with the Warriors for the 2022-23 season. The big man agreed a one-year deal worth $2.62 million. Green is expected to enter free agency by the end of the season depending on what Golden State decides to do with him before the offseason.
Now suiting up for the Warriors, JaMychal Green is averaging almost similar stats compared to his previous season with the Nuggets. Green is averaging 6.4 points and 4.2 rebounds in 14.9 minutes of play. For the first time in five seasons, the Warriors forward is shooting above 50% from the field with 52.6%. The veteran has played 33 of 53 games this season.
Looking at JaMychal Green's NBA career
JaMychal Green had a rough start coming into the NBA. He officially entered the league in 2012 but ended up undrafted.
In 2013 the LA Clippers gave Green an opportunity to play a game. After his brief debut, fans didn't see him on the court till the 2014-15 season when he played for the San Antonio Spurs and Memphis Grizzlies. He played 24 games that season.
It wasn't till the 2015-16 season that JaMychal Green had a chance to show what he was capable of. Green was a solid role player and played arguably his most efficient seasons in Memphis. The best season of his career was in the 2017-18 season. JaMychal averaged 10.3 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. It was the only season he averaged at least ten points per game.
In 2018, Green reunited with the team that gave him his first opportunity in the NBA. The Grizzlies traded the big man to the Clippers, where his efficiency slowly deteriorated. Green played for LA for two seasons before signing with the Denver Nuggets in 2020. Unfortunately, the big man never picked up where he left off after his time in Memphis.
Now suiting up for the Golden State Warriors, Green is regressing back to his old form when he first started out in the NBA. Turning 33 later this year, it isn't clear if he can replicate his 2017 season.
