Odell Beckham Jr. sends message to Kevin Durant

After being traded to the Phoenix Suns at the trade deadline, Kevin Durant only got to play a handful of games with his new team. After recovering from an MCL injury suffered before the trade, the former MVP was sidelined again after just three games.

Kevin Durant is currently nursing an ankle injury that happened just before his home debut with the Suns. While going through pre-game warmups, he slipped on a wet spot and ultimately sprained his ankle.

Following the injury, it emerged that Durant will return this season, but not until the postseason. That being said, some are already anxious to see the 13-time All-Star back on the floor.

Early Thursday morning, NFL wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. took to Twitter with a message for Durant. He kept it short and simple when it came to his thoughts on his impending return.

Beckham Jr. is in a similar situation to Durant's as he is patiently waiting to make his return this football season after missing all of last year due to an ACL injury.

Can Kevin Durant be impactful for the Phoenix Suns when he returns

After playing only three games with his new team, some have to wonder how impactful Kevin Durant can be upon his return. The Phoenix Suns already had a limited amount of time to get him in the mix, and will now have to do it on the fly in the postseason.

One thing they have going for them is that Durant thrived in the few games he did get to play with Phoenix. In those three matchups, he averaged 26.7 ppg and 7.3 rpg while shooting an incredible 69% from the field.

Seeing that Durant is one of the best plug-and-play guys in NBA history, the Suns might be able to make this work. After parting ways with a haul of assets to bring him in, the expectations to make a deep run are still there.

It isn't a perfect situation for the Suns, but they have the capabilities to compete with anyone in the playoffs. Chris Paul is still one of the best floor generals in the game and will be flanked by two elite scorers in Durant and Devin Booker.

Durant has proven he doesn't need much ramp-up time returning from injury, which is a huge positive for Phoenix. Since this group has the potential to win it all, it's not surprising that stars like OBJ are excited to see them back at full strength.
