The Minnesota Timberwolves have been treading water without two of their major stars and may finally be getting some relief.
They have been without All-Star Karl Anthony-Towns since November 28 due to a calf strain. Towns was averaging 20.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists and was shooting 50.5% from the field. He was also shooting 32.5% from three-point range. The Timberwolves have gone 26-26 without Towns.
Minnesota has also been without leading scorer Anthony Edwards. The young star has been sidelined with an ankle injury since March 17. The Timberwolves went 1-1 in his absence.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Towns and Edwards may return to the court on Wednesday against Atlanta:

"There is optimism that Minnesota Timberwolves stars Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards (ankle) could return as soon as Wednesday vs. Atlanta Hawks, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Towns, sidelined since Nov. 28 with Grade 3 calf strain, is on the cusp of a major return."
Minnesota Timberwolves still have everything to play for

Minnesota has been a dramatically different team since Towns left the lineup. Mike Conley and Nickell Alexander-Walker have become mainstays in the rotation since arriving by three-way trade with the LA Lakers and Utah Jazz.
Minnesota shipped out D’Angelo Russell and have gone 7-9 since the trade. They currently sit at 36-37 and eighth in the Western Conference standings, firmly in the mix for the play-in tournament.
Five of the nine remaining games for Minnesota are on the road. This includes a three-game road swing out West, where they will face the Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings, and the Phoenix Suns.
