LeBron James is the leading scorer in NBA history after passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on Tuesday night. James, who has had insane expectations since high school, has clearly surpassed all those and then some. Not only has he put together arguably the greatest NBA career of all time, but he's an outstanding person off of the court.

Due to James having to deal with media pressure and other issues from a young age, it's remarkable that he's always been a stand-up person.

Twitter user sports_by_stats, who goes by Jordan, shared an incredible story about James. He said that he had major foot surgery and his mom set up a meeting with LeBron and gave him a book:

"As a kid, I needed major foot surgery. My mom set up this meeting between and me and a high school LeBron James. Pregame, we spent 20 minutes talking. As a thank you, we bought him a book and he got teary saying that nobody ever brings him things and they just expect him to give."

LeBron James has always helped others

Hearing LeBron James get emotional about this because people are always asking for stuff is sad to hear. It's a tough way to look at things, but in the end, James is a human. He's just like the next guy and should be treated as such.

James recently spoke about how it's tough to live his day-to-day life due to everyone knowing who he is:

"I wish I could just walk outside. I wish I could just, like, walk into a movie theater and sit down and go to the concession stand and get popcorn. I wish I could just go to an amusement park just like regular people. I wish I could go to Target sometimes and walk into Starbucks and have my name on the cup just like regular people."

James added that he wouldn't trade his life for the world, but there are things that make it tough.

Now, the all-time points leader will continue helping people on and off the court. He looks to have at least another few years in the league as he chases another ring.
