While Ben Simmons has been successful on the basketball court, that confidence has stemmed to other areas of his life as well. Most notably, his dating life. Along with dating Kendall Jenner for a brief period, the former No. 1 pick was romantically connected to Maya Jamma.

Ben Simmons began dating the television actress in May of 2021. Right around the same time his months-long saga with the Philadelphia 76ers began. Their relationship was confirmed later that summer when they were spotted together at Wimbledon.

After roughly seven months of dating, Simmons decided to pop the question to Jamma. The two were engaged for some time, but things did not work out in the end. During the summer of 2022, the two split and went their separate ways. When asked about the decision to break up, hectic work schedules was one of the main factors mentioned.

Maya Jamma has appeared in multiple television programs, but her most recent is being the host of "Love Island." It is a reality TV dating show where a group of single people are put together in a luxury home with the intention of finding love.

During one of the first episodes with Maya Jamma as host, a discussion about never finding real love. It was there that she chimed in by saying "trust me, I know."

Following this comment, many fans quickly rushed to social media to speculate. Many quickly came to the assumption that she was throwing shade at Ben Simmons given their recent breakup.

Others think that this could also have been a dig at the rapper Stormzy. Jamma dated him for roughly four years before getting with the Brooklyn Nets forward.

Many believe a comment like this was made to hurt some feelings, but could also just been seen as the truth. Given that she is fresh off having an engagement called off, it's fair to assume Maya Jamma was just being honest.

Based on their comments regarding the breakup, Maya Jamma and Ben Simmons seemed to be on the same page. With that in mind, it's likely she didn't say this just to take a slight jab at the NBA star.
