Malcolm Brogdon joins the 50-40-90 club

For an NBA player to enter the very exclusive club, one must have a FG% of atleast 50%, including 40% from 3-point range, and 90% from the free throw line. Malcolm Brogdon did exactly that back in the 2018-19 season with the Milwaukee Bucks. It was Brogdon's third season in the league and he shot 50.5/42.6/92.8%, which earned him the right to join the club.

Besides his shooting, Brogdon was also an efficient starting role player for the Bucks. He averaged 15.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game in the 2018-19 season. He was an asset for the team, who parted ways with Milwaukee the following season despite his spectacular performance.

Looking at Brogdon's career after leaving Milwaukee

In the 2019-20 season, Malcolm Brogdon moved to the Indiana Pacers where his career became more notable. Brogdon played at an elite level for the Pacers for three seasons. His numbers went up and he became a reliable second option.

Brogdon's most notable season in Indiana was the 2020-21 season. He averaged a career-high 21.2 points accompanied by 5.9 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game on 45.3% shooting. In three season with the Pacers, Brogdon averaged 18.9 points, 6.3 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game.

Malcolm Brogdon is currently playing his first season with the Boston Celtics. It's the first time since his time in Indiana that he isn't a starter. Looking at his numbers, they've significantly dropped and might not go up anytime soon given his role. However, there is a chance he might enter the 50-40-90 club again.

As of November 27, Brogdon's shooting averages are 46.6/44.3/87%. The Celtics still have 62 games to play, which is plenty of time for Brogdon to boost his overall field goal and free throw percentages.
