Jaylen Brown warms up before a game

Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown was seen leaving the game against the Philadelphia 76ers in the first half. Recent reports have suggested that Brown sustained a facial fracture, with the Celtics monitoring the situation closely.

Jaylen Brown has been a pivotal piece in Boston's schemes this season. As the second part of the Celtics' star duo, Brown is a huge contributor to the team's success.

As one of the best two-way players in the league, Brown is vital to Boston's plans as the team attempts to hang up another banner this season. Having earned an All-Star selection this season, the guard was certainly flourishing in his role.

Brown was seen heading towards the locker room after catching an inadvertent elbow from teammate Jayson Tatum. While chasing down a rebound, Brown took a hit to the face and was floored almost immediately. He didn't return for the rest of the game.

Although the Celtics came away with a win against the 76ers, they were greeted with some bad news regarding Brown's health.

As per The Athletic's Shams Charania, Brown sustained a facial fracture, which will sideline him through the All-Star break.

While there will be examinations in the coming days, the Celtics will have to prepare to be without another key player.

The Celtics still managed to beat the 76ers with an extremely shorthanded lineup. With Tatum also having a particularly low scoring night, the C’s truly rallied together to rack up the dub at home.

Jaylen Brown's absence could be devastating for the Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics are currently the best team in the East. With one of the best records in the NBA, the Celtics have done a great job of securing wins even after suffering a rather tough stretch of losses.

Jaylen Brown being sidelined for the foreseeable future only adds to the Celtics' pre-existing injury concerns. With several key players out of the rotation, Boston will be playing shorthanded for a while.

Brown's impact on both ends of the floor will be tough to make up for. With Malcolm Brogdon and Derrick White sharing minutes at this juncture, the Celtics will need to find a way to stay competitive and ensure they keep their top spot heading into the All-Star break.

Currently at 39-16 this season, Boston are still holding onto the top spot in the East. Given the shake-up in the East ahead of the trade deadline, the Celtics may also enjoy some respite.

However, with a few tough games left before the All-Star break, Boston will just hope to stay afloat.
