Walker Kessler is currently tearing it up for the Utah Jazz. The 7-foot rookie has continued to impress in his role, averaging a whopping 2.0 blocks to go with 7.6 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. With his recent surge in play, fans have begun to wonder about the 21-year-old's personal life, specifically his girlfriend.

According to reports, Kessler and his girlfriend, Maggie Hellgeth, have been together since 2021, and have done a pretty good job of keeping their personal life private. While they have shared photos and videos of one another on social media, they don't overly share their relationship like some famous couples do.

While there's no word on how they started dating, Hellgeth is attending Savannah College of Art and Design, like her mother, where she will graduate in 2024. Kessler spent a year at North Carolina before transferring to Auburn for his sophomore season. There, he thrived, earning McDonald's All-American as well as Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Although Kessler is playing in Utah, and Hellgeth is studying in Savannah, Georgia, across the country must be difficult, the pair have continued to make things work.

Walker Kessler's career

As one of the tallest young prospects in his draft class, Walker Kessler drew a lot of attention before he ever set foot on an NBA court. When the pair started dating, Kessler was playing collegiate basketball and building up his draft resume.

Before that, he played for Woodward Academy in high school.

There, he helped the team win their first basketball state title in 120 years, earning him quite the reputation locally. After being declared a five-star recruit, Kessler joined North Carolina. Unfortunately, things didn't work out there for him. A year later, he transferred to Georgia to be closer to home and his girlfriend.

As he revealed at the time, the pandemic affected people in different ways. In his case, it made him want to be closer to home. In addition, there has always been speculation that Kessler wasn't being utilized enough. With plenty of other big men on the roster, the 7-footer averaged just 8.8 minutes per game and didn't start once.

After transferring to Auburn, things improved, and Walker Kessler started in all 34 of the games he played. Now, as a member of the Utah Jazz, he has the full confidence of coach Will Hardy, who talked about the impact Kessler brings to the court recently:

'"He is everywhere, it feels like. He has worked really, really hard on understanding the ones he can’t block and not fouling. Keeping his hands back, using his body, using verticality and making guys have to make tough layups over him. I thought tonight was also his best game of the season, defensive rebounding."
