Zach Edey enjoyed a strong start to the Memphis Grizzlies' home against the LeBron James-led Lakers on Wednesday. The Grizzlies young star stamped his authority in the opening quarter as Ja Morant and Co. registered a fantastic 131-114 win over the Purple and Gold.
The rookie wasted no time establishing his presence on the offensive glass, keeping possessions alive twice after missed shots by his teammates.
At 7-foot-4, Edey's size and strength proved challenging for the Lakers, especially in the absence on Anthony Davis, as he secured six rebounds in the first quarter alone, three of them offensive. The former Purdue standout also contributed six points on a perfect 2-for-2 shooting from the field in just over four minutes.
