Zach Edey gets into heated exchange with Wizards star
The towering Memphis Grizzlies rookie appeared less than impressed during a recent outing against the Wizards. Edey showed his competitive edge as she he clashed with veteran big man Jonas Valanciunas.
Despite the Grizzlies' comfortable win, the game was packed with intensity, especially in the third quarter when Edey and Valanciunas battled under the basket for a critical rebound.
As they wrestled for position, tensions flared, and Edey, clearly unamused, nudged Valanciunas, prompting officials to step in. Edey didn’t hold back his frustration, while Valanciunas was quick to respond, but the situation cooled down, allowing the game to resume smoothly.
What truly stands out from this encounter is Edey’s tenacity; the towering 7-foot-4 center showed he isn’t intimidated, even against a seasoned player like Valanciunas, who brings 12 years of NBA experience.
The Grizzlies and Ja Morant have plenty of work left this season to cement themselves with the elite in the West. The team needs to finish the regular season strong and carry that momentum into the playoffs.
